Seth Deacon is an artist living Cape Town, South Africa. His work reflects his interests in transformation and change, both personal and societal. Inspired by biological forms, particularly the connective tissues that communicate between and replenish our cells. His work explores the states that occur between the now and the future, where he sees a space for imagination and optimism, in spite of the oppressive complexity of our world and its problems. He feels this space is mirrored by the plasticity (albeit limited), vulnerability and resilience of the human body, he’s a trans queer artist working to become more comfortable in his body and the world, but not so comfortable he stops trying to contribute to the processes of change.
